It is almost closer to Port Huron. Why their birth certificates would say Detroit? No clue.. Port Huron is about 20 miles away. I would check for where a hospital / home address was listed for the birth? Can't see driving 50 miles back then to get to Detroit. Hope that helps! His father Charles and my grandfather Joseph were brothers. Our family was very close to him and in fact he married me and my husband. I can't answer your question directly but try google.com for "funeral homes dearborn MI" (no quotes) Walter Dalton does not come up so they are either closed or merged as you suggested. Two that I know of Voran and Howe-Peterson are still open. I would give either one of them a phone call and see if they can help. I used the information you provided, but I cannot absolutely confirm. I am a relation, and am curious if you, too, are a relative. James Stewart Donald (b. 1856) may be the son of William Donald and Ann Stewart. I do not have birthdates or birthplaces. I also believe this James Stewart Donald had a sister, Isabella, born 7-6-1854. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you look at ED 326, you can see where the census taker goes from the 4100s block to the 3800s and misses the 3900s. It's not as if he or she was just doing the even side of the street. Somewhere about image 13 the addresses on Joseph Campau are in the 3900s and it appears that Alexandrine is enumerated and then Mitchell jumps. Looking at a current map, 3945 Mitchell is just south of Alexandrine st. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Annie Evelyn PARRY was the second of my grand uncle Harry RODLIFFE's two wives, born Carmarthen Wales in December 1883, and married to him in Ontario Canada in 1909. They were living in Ottawa Canada in 1911. Harry came back to Cornwall to die in 1914 but the last record I have of Evelyn is in 1913, a dressmaker, at 16 Willis E,Detroit Michigan. I would be most grateful for any more recent sightings. Best wishes Stan Rodliffe

From the 1930 Detroit City Directory he was living with his parents Frank and Ophelia (Teofila) at 3945 Mitchell Avenue. And they are all at that address in the 1940 census. Vincent was born in Michigan, and Frank and Teofila were both born in German Poland. I have their other census records, their marriage records and their death records. Any help with the 1930 census would be great. Thank you. Joseph Martin Romeoville, Illinois Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The cemetery association is really helpful. The names are taken from the death records and if they were in error, the cemetery still has to use that name. My Dad's brother who died as an infant is buried under the wrong surname-similiar but wrong and they cannot change it. I had the same experience with the Detroit office but I finally did speak to someone who was very helpful. Now I wish I had gotten her name and a direct line if she had one. Also, each time I was transferred or instructed to select an option, I got what I considered a political type message for the City Clerk. I think the City has some mandatory furlough days because they have no money and that might have caused some problems too.
