His name is John C Page. DOB: July 17, 1892 DOD: November 9, 1972 He died in Wayne Co, MI and his SSN number was issued in that state prior to 1951 so he was possibly born in Michigan. If anyone has ANY info that might help, please let me know. All I can find on Ancestry is his MI death record (can't see the record) and SSDI record. Nothing is known of his family and we're trying to reunite a family with him. He was a Private in the Army during WW 1. Please email me direct at [email protected] ... I have been trying to search for his parents forever (James H and Elizabeth whom are recorded on his marriage record). If he was born Detroit, MI from these parents, for the life of me can't find any of them in censuses from 1870 1880 and up until 1893. I've looked everywhere, every search engine, every genealogy site there is.  Maybe it just wasn't meant for me to find! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Have you checked www.familysearch.org yet? I have had much better luck finding Michigan marriage records there. Also, if this is the only record you have for them, be open to the idea that "Marcella" may be a transcription error and it may be something else that sounds like that name. Good Luck! I was adopted in 1943 and I always wondered the names of my biological parents. Visited the morgue of the daily paper when I was in my teens but didn't see any child born at the hospital on my amended birth certificate. My Mom helped me to have my records opened when I was 40 as I had an interest in genealogy. It helped that she had a good friend who worked at our local court house who was close to the Family Court Judge. Turned out I had seen my birth announcement but they had changed the name of the hospital. Linda Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My husband was born 2/28/1970 in Detroit, MI, Wayne County. He was given up for adoption 2 weeks later. His adopted mother has told us that she remembers sneaking a peek at his original birth certificate and the name he was given was either Gerald or Gregory Stanek. Stanek for sure is the last name. My husband and I are looking for his birth mother, birth father or any sibling that he may have. His name now is John Brevoort and he grew up in Southgate, MI and went to Catholic school. Does anyone know of a young Stanek mother who would have been forced to give her son up for adoption. Please reply if you do, he's been waiting a very long time and just turned 42.
