Author: Georgia1910 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.wayne/18777.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Michigan marriages are on the Mormon website up to 1925. www.familysearch.org Do their ages at first marriage on the 1930 census help at all in determining how long they have been married? Were they born in Pennsylvania? I found a 1930 census in Detroit but it is barely readable so I am not sure if it is them but it shows two children being born in PA too, as well as a brother-in-law named Anthony Mitchell. I know that marriage records are available from Lansing, but I would like to attempt to locate a specific date before requesting a record. I checked a few later Directories and don't find any more entries for John Burrell. I can't find a return to the States for them, so it's possible that they did stay in Scotland. I also checked www.familysearch.org for marriages for the daughters, both here in Michigan and also in Scotland, but nothing turned up. I'll see if I can find anything else. His wife Euphemia (nee Gibson, b 1886, Scotland) and their two girls Catherine (b 1901, Stobhill, Scotland) and Elizabeth (b 1912, Stobhill) followed on in 1929.
