Dear Maria, Well, Fifield Cemtery is located on Lansing Rd. I was born in Lansing, but I guess my Dad never knew where his great grandfather was buried. I don't know if you are close by, but it may be a long time before I get a chance to go back ti MI. I am an R.N. and it seems every time I plan a vacation, even to just stay home it is ruined! I was last back to MI in 1999. Here is where it supposedly is, I do not know if it is overgrown or kept. "There is a Tainter family stone at Fifield Cemetary on Lansing Avenue about 5 miles north of Jackson. It would be located in Blackman Township. The stone is quite a large one and there is room for several graves, but there are no individual names listed." My Daniel Tainter & his family lived in Jackson, MI in & around Tompkins & Rives. He married Polly Godfrey in 1832. Daniel died in 1846, and then 1 son died at age 3 in 1848 and 2 grown daughters died, one Miriam Tainter in 1865 & then Mary Ann Tainter in 1870. Polly (Godfrey) Tainter died on Feb. 12, 1861. This must be where all my family is buried. If you ever get by there & it's not too far, I would love to see a photgraph of the monument. Did you find anymore McLaren's at the Dibean site? I think people struck by the genealogy bug are the most generous people. I have shared & received so much in kind! When you start hearing from your McLaren's you will be surprised! Always remember to search the spouses names, also. Sometimes the female line will have more inf. than the male lines.
