This happens all the time, I got my greatgreat grandfathers death certificate and Im not sure that hes place of birth is correct eithier as it conflicts with family stories It was also given by a son whom was surely upset ! My sister just relived not long ago that she was listed as Black on my newphews birth certificate she is defiently not but when talking to the vital records department they said she marked it so thats how it had to stand even though If she did she was under a lot of pain medication after just giving birth and youd think a nurse or someone would have over seen that?
