I hope this "Subject" has drawn your attention? I have made many announcements around the various counties, which mothered the men who enlisted into the Michigan 22nd Infantry, for historical reasons. I have been composing a large History book on this very Regiment, which has simply been one colossal and monumental project, bet never the less a labor of love. The materials I have amassed is something no one person should have ever taken on, but then in the 140 years post the Civil War these 1,658 men have never had the whole story told, written or placed in our lives like I feel I have attempted to accomplish over three years ago. Many of you might recall during my Military Genealogy Programs, on securing Historical Military Records? If you have then you know my dedication and allegiance to the cause of history and the many lovely people who appreciate the research and military history of the men of the Civil War. My vested interest comes from my great great grandfather and ! his brother, both serving in the Michigan 22nd. You see my friends these men came from your county, my county, and our sister counties here in this section of Michigan. Many of us today are descendents of those men, and have perhaps a small CDV or old picture after the Civil War of one of the men. Yu may also know a small section of history on some of the men. That's why I ask, plead and request any and all words be sent out to ask anyone to contribute to this body of work. Not to sell, trade or buy, but to tell the story more in-depth, as so I might have greater base of material to include. So may people have contributed, and all will and have been given name and material credit, as well as any future material provided. My cut off date is basically much closer, so I must become semi aggressive in requesting any and all that might have some small notes, or pictures, or allow me to photograph an artifact, make contact with me ASAP, as so I might keep add. I appreciate the minute! you took to read this note, and may you all enjoy the history in the near future, of a story line of our ancestors who gave and contributed to so much, so long ago, for a story that must be told.
