Hi Nancy , Long time! I have a few questions and possibly a donation to the society and/or the Saline Library. I found an old letter from Bessie Collins dated 5.13.1942 in a long lost box That referes many facts about my Lawrence and Howard Lines in Saline. It might have some value to the society and Library(In saline) If neered I've allready OCR'd it and can send it as a DOC file.If you want you can include it in FAMILY CAPERS. Questions: Tis letters mentions that (around 1870) the Lawrence's (Albert G. And his second Wife Myra Stewart Lawrence) lived in York township Just off Milan Road. The modern maps I have dont specifically label York . (I believe the milan Road mentioned is actually the Saline-Milan road) It additionball mentions that the land later became Saline Valley Farms, Inc.(around 1942)What specific Modern Crossroads would emcompass The York Township? The letter further mentions that Albert Conducted his Grocery Business in the "Wallace Block" What were the specific demtions of the wallace block(What street was it and From whish street to which street?) You allready know that The Wallace the block is named after are my ancestors. The letter further mentions that later the Lawrences moved to a house NEXT to the Davenport house on E Henry street. It further gives the ownership history of the Davenport House from the 1920's to 1942. I think I mentioned to you before that I now believe that the odd pictures I have that I now can Identify the Davenprot House from about 1930 and the area around the house looked nothing like it did when I came in 2001! I am also sending this to the MIWASHTE-L also in case the following names interest the list. Names refered to in this letter: Lawrence, Worden, Davenport,Josenhans, Mc Bride,Gray,Pope, Curtis and Howard. Places mentioned: Davenport House, Saline Valley Farms, Wallace Block, Ford Garage davenport Bank and Citizen's Bank.
Thank you Dee. Nancy

Hello Dee, I'm sorry I'm not able to help you, but I was very interested in you when I saw that you are a "Wells". My step-dad was a Wells and I am trying to research his family as well as my biological surname. He raised me since I was 5 years old. His name was Wayne E. Wells and had a brother, Robert L. Wells; their father being Louis J. Wells. Do you have any info that might be helpful to me? Thank you, Nancy.
I am looking for information on my Grandmother's [Rose-Erma DAVIS] family. Her mother was Martha KRUMREI, daughter of Frederick KRUMREI and Charlotte "Lottie" HINTZE. Martha was married to a DAVIS, also looking for information on that DAVIS lineage. Frederick's & Charlotte's other children were: Pauline Alvina [KRUMREI] FOLK b.1886 d. 1963--Do not need information on this line. I already have it. Amanda KRUMREI b. 1884 d. 1966 Edward KRUMREI b. 1891 d. 1968 Frederik W. b. 1890 d. ???? Frederik W.'s children: Helen, John, Kathren & Ruth Not only am I looking for information on these family members, I am also looking for Frederick's and Charlotte's ancestors. Is there anyone on this list or who subscribes to another list, that can supply this information that I am seeking? I'd really appreciate it :) --- [This E-mail Scanned for viruses by Onlinemac.com]
Hello, I am looking for a cemetery in Ann Arbor where Charles Greiner and his wife, Katherine or Kate were buried between 1920 and 1930. Thank you for your time on this. Dee Wells
Kim - I am not sure which Labar I am looking for!! About 1884-85 possibly a Charles H. Labar married Julia Sykes (1865-1930) and died (or left) before the 1910 census when Julia LaBar shows as a widow with daughter Martha age 3 in Ann Arbor, MI. Julia also had a son Austin Lewis LaBar born c. 1886 in NY ( possibly in Buffalo, NY). I did not find any of them on the 1900 US census. 1880 Julia Sykes was 15 on the Buffalo, Erie Co., NY census. Julia moved to Hamilton Co., TN between the 1910 & 1930 census but died 2 days after the 1930 census and was returned to Ypsilanti for burial. Her son Austin died in 1962 and was also returned to Ypsilanti. On Austin's death certificate the father is listed as Charles H. LaBar and "Place of Disposition is: Removal to Ypsilanti, Michigan". No one alive today knows where in Ypsilanti they were buried or anything at all about Julia's husband. Please e-mail me direct - I appreciate any help or advice you can give.
