    3. Hi everyone, I received the following message and since I don't live in Washtenaw County, wondered if anyone on the list could help this woman. Please don't hit 'reply' to respond to her, but address your response to Jennifer Knight at <knight@money.org>. Thanks. Colleen -------- Original Message -------- Subject: geneva karlson obituary Date: Thu, 20 Nov 2003 15:18:13 -0700 From: Publications Dept <knight@money.org> Organization: American Numismatic Association To: ladyaudris@earthlink.net I was wondering if you knew that Geneva R. Karlson, who was born in Washtenaw County, had recently died. Is there someone I could get in touch with who would have more complete information on her? I am trying to write an obituary for the Numismatist, the monthly publication of the American Numismatic Association. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel and Debbie Holth" <holths@centurytel.net> To: <MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 09, 2003 9:06 PM Subject: [MI-Genealogy] Thank you!! > Thanks so much to all of you for so much incredible, terrific, and wonderful help. You are the greatest people in the world!!! I have had so many brick walls that you have helped me knock over for the past 3 or so years that without you, none of this would have been possible. > > I know it may seem like I have not thanked you enough - and perhaps I have not - but I know in the past that I have thanked many of you, both individually and corporately. I have always been grateful - however, with many, many computer problems, including a major crash of my first computer in May 2003, causing all info and addresses to be permanently lost, I was, until a few months ago, unable to send out the thanks and the letters of appreciation that you so rightly deserve. That is the only reason I have been lax and/or late with any "symbols" of my appreciation - not because I am rude or anything like that - just that at times I am "mechanically inept" and/or have continous computer difficulties beyond my control. > > So again, Michigan listers - MEGA THANK YOU!! for all the work you have done, for the kind assistance and patience in my repeat queries and answers - I am sure the more I learn, the more I will ask, but thanks for your undying, kind patience. 1. [MIWASHTE] Force Family
    2. Does anyone have any information on the Obadiah Family? One son by the name of Francis married a Betsy Chrysler and they had several children born in Manchester. They later moved to Spencer, MI but another brother Benjamin lived in Manchester and is buried in the Manchester cemetery. Any information you might have on the Forces would be appreciated. The time frame I am talking about is probably around the 1840s to 1860s. Obadiah later moved to Stockbridge, MI. Thanks Dianna Force forcecrank@aol.com

    3. > The Staffan Funeral Home in Chelsea was bought out a few years ago by John Mitchell Sr. and Jr. They also have a home over in Stockbridge. The Staffan/Mitchell Funeral home in Chelsea is out on Highway 52, past the Jiffy Miz plant and the Glazier Building. There is one other Funeral home in town that I don't know anything about really except that it is down just a block or so from the cemetery. I can't recall the name of it right off hand. 3. Hi John, I can't answer your question, but the other funeral home in Chelsea at that time was: Burghardt Funeral Home 214 E. Middle Chelsea GR 5-4141 Of course in Ypsi today is Stark Funeral Home run in 1967 as: Moore Funeral Home Inc. 101 S. Washington HU 2-4900 At that time R. M. Wagner & L. K. Stark were owners and directors. 3. Lizzie, I believe that your Steffen family is definitely different from my Staffans. The Staffans figure prominently in the history of Chelsea just outside of Ann Arbor. That is where the original Staffan Funeral home is/was. My Grandfather opened up the home in Ann Arbor in the early 50s or so.
