    2. I've hit another snag on yet another line <sigh>. Recently in the Manchester newspaper (online version) there was an obit for Jerry Jacob. His parents were Raymond & Anita (Uphaus) Jacob. I've checked my file & don't have Anita Uphaus, so I don't know how she ties into the rest of the Uphaus clan. I found her & her husband Raymond listed in the SSDI -- she was born in 1905, he in 1903. Does anyone know who Anita Uphaus's parents were? I'm sure I must have them in my file. Maybe I have Anita after all, just listed with an incorrect name. I'd dearly love to get this twig attached to the tree. Gloria Landwer Scott (P.S. If I owe anyone a letter, I'll get to it eventually. I'm swamped with mail, research....... & silly things like housework & work work!!)

We also checked the spelling Turrell. You might want to contact the Washtenaw County Clerks office to see if they have a death certificate for Mrs M L Glazier to see if it lists her maiden name. There may be a record for the 1864 marriage even though Michigan did not require keeping of Vital Records until 1867, many counties kept records before this. 3. Morn-in Cuz Marti Thanks for the added info. What was the surname of Salome's Half siblings that came to America in 1847? You have Salome Married to Wilhelm Grieb. We have her married to William. Got the info from Nancy King in Ann Arbor Michigan and the Washtenaw County Michigan Marriage records dated 14 March 1872. Could it be that he went by Wilhelm in Germany and then went by William when he came to the USA. The 1900 Washtenaw County Census has Salome born April 1848 you say 1845? Should we change it to 1845? Have found over the years that you can not always take the census info as the law. Seems some times the census taker was guessing at info. 1. Re: [MIWASHTE] Looking For Genealogy Information On The KRUMREI Family
    2. John Turrel
    3. Jack and Marianne-- My grandfather, John Lyman Turrel, sometime in 1864 married Abbie Gaskill Schuyler, most likely in Ann Arbor. A native of western New York State, he was a law graduate of the University of Michigan. Is there a record of this marriage? It ended in divorce sometime in the 1880s. They had a daughter, Jennie A. Turrel, and her birth is also given as 1864. She shows up at age 16 in the 1880 census in Attica NY, where John Lyman, Abbie, and Jennie were living with John's parents. After the divorce, Abbie moved to Northville to live with her brother, Dr. Randall Schuyler. We've lost track of Jennie (doesn't show in any 1890 census record, but think she may have married a Mr. M. L. Glazier between 1880 and 1890, a marriageable-age period). At any rate, in the Schuyler family plot in Ann Arbor's Forest Hill Cemetery, a Mrs. M. L. Glazier was buried in 1918, along with several Schuylers. If this should prove to be Jennie, she would have been 54, but no age is shown on the cemetery monument. John Lyman Turrel remarried about 1890, and from this union my father was born in 1894. Would the records you maintain have anything on a marriage of M. L. Glazier and Jennie A. Turrel between 1880 and 1890? I'm told that Glazier is a prominent surname in the area. In August I paid the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County to research this but they take their queries in chronological order and apparently haven't worked that far down the list yet. (I'm 82 and hope to solve the mystery of Aunt Jennie before I check out!) Thank you. John Daniel Turrel, Jr., 10325 East Boyd Road, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jack & Marianne Dibean" <dibeanjack@juno.com> To: <MIWASHTE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 05, 2003 7:21 PM Subject: Re: [MIWASHTE] Looking For Genealogy Information On The KRUMREI Family > We maintain the Michigan Marriage Index Database base that has the > following record: > > CHARLES - KRUMREI m AUGUSTA - MILLER in WASHTENAW cty 04 JUL 1885 > > Any family connection?
