    1. ([MITUSCOL])LOCKWOOD - BANNON - ROUSH Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" a group of four photographs including two of Clara Arleen LOCKWOOD and her Mother Elma ROUSH which were taken when Clara was just 4 months old. The photograph is printed on the front of a postcard so I'm guessing it was taken between 1905 and 1920. Elma is identified as the daughter of Emma & Albert ROUSH. The third photograph is a group snapshot photograph identified with the name Helen LOCKWOOD which includes a large family group (18 members) photograph taken on the lawn next to a home. I'm guessing that this photograph was likely taken in the 1920's or 1930's. The fourth photograph is one of Mary ROUSH, Leah ROUSH MORRIS, and Berthel MORRIS which was taken at the Atherton Studio in Reed City, MI. This photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Mary identified as the "Mother of Albert ROUSH" and Leah as "Albert's Sister". Berthel MORRIS appears to be about 5-6 years old, her Mother Leah likely in her 20's or 30's, and Mary ROUSH likely in her 40's or 50's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the family: Clara Arleen LOCKWOOD was b. 21 Dec 1916 Maple Valley Township, Montcalm Co., MI to parents Charles Francis LOCKWOOD (1886-1932) and Elma M. ROUSH (1898-1979). Clara was one of three children born to this couple including, Clara Arleen; Charles Harvey; and Richard Albert LOCKWOOD all born between 1916 and 1919. Clara's Mother remarried after her Father's death, she married William Charles DICKEN (1887-1971). Clara married Howard F. INSLEY (1900-1983) and they had two children, Lorane INSLEY EDWARDS (1936-2015) and Jeffery Lee INSLEY (b. 1951). Clara died 19 Aug 1995 in Ionia, MI and is buried in the Smyrna Cemetery in Smyrna, MI. Emma Jane BANNEN was b. 13 Sept 1877 in Beverly, Wentworth, Ontario, Canada to parents Richard BANNON (1840-1919) and Margaret ARMSTRONG (1842-1929) who were married on 26 Apr 1864 in Wentworth, Ontario, Canada. Emma was one of 13 children born to this couple including, Edward; John H.; Catherine Effie; William; Robert Alexander; Isabella; Margaret; Emma Jane; James Herbert; Richard Roy; Walter; Annie; and Thomas BANNEN, all born between 1865 and 1896. Emma married Albert Michael ROUSH (1872-1955) on 29 Mar 1897 in Carol, MI and they had two children including Elma M. ROUSH (1898-1979) and Elzora ROUSH (1899-1948). Albert ROUSH was b. 6 Mar 1872 in Hastings, MI to parents Michael ROUSH and Mary FERGUSON identified below and he died 7 Feb 1955 in Belding, MI. Mary L. FERGUSON ROUSH was b. Sept 1844 in Ohio to parents George Washington FERGUSON (1816-1877) and Christina GUENTHER (1819-1885). Mary was one of 11 children born to this couple including Mary L.; James William; Betsey Ann; George W.; John Martin; Aurora Butler; Charles Michael; Franklin FERGUSON and three others, all born between 1841 and 1873. Mary died in 1922 and is buried in the Reynolds Township Cemetery in Howard City, MI. Leah Elizabeth ROUSH was b. 22 May 1869 in Castleton Township, Barry Co., MI to parents Michael ROUSH (1841-1921) and Mary FERGUSON (b. 1844) who were married 22 Jun 1865 in Sandusky, OH. Leah was one of 8 children born to this couple including, William; George E. S.; Leah Elizabeth; Albert Michael; Willard; Samuel D.; William Henry; and James Arthur ROUSH, all born between 1867 and 1883. Leah married John MORRIS and had only the one child. After the death of her husband John Leah married Ruel F. NEWBERRY (1860-1901) on 6 Jan 1900 in Sault St. Marie, MI. Leah died 3 Jun 1908 in Reynolds Township, Montcalm Co., MI. Berthel "Sherry" MORRIS was b. 19 Apr 1887 in Clare, MI to John MORRIS (b. 1820) and Leah ROUSH and she married Samuel Lawrence FLEMING (1878-1963) on 28 May 1904 in Alma, MI and together they had five children including Baby Boy; Wallace Emerson; John Donald; Leah Isabel or Isabell; and Elizabeth FLEMING, all born between 1908 and 1915. Berthel d. 11 Jul 1979 and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Alma, MI. I am hoping to return these photographs to the family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley

    3. Hi everyone! Sorry to start another thread of messages so close to a Surname Shout Out but with the lists being down the first part of the year it threw my scheduling off. Hope you don't mind... With this being the Memorial Day Weekend, I thought it would it be interesting to post one ancestor we have in our family trees who served in one of the many wars and battles we fought in US History. Obviously it has to be an ancestor from this county. :) Give a brief biography of that person including the unit and war he or she was in, a POW, injuries, plus the usual genealogical stuff. Thanks in advance and have a safe weekend! Rick B Admin

    3. Good morning Shelley, I have recently become aware of the "discussion forums" on the www.findagrave.com site and you might want to go there and check that out. You do have to become a member but there is no charge, those forum boards have been a real benefit to me the last few weeks. If you are not familiar with that site, you will love it . . . for those people who might not even be interested in genie hunting, they might like posting obits or taking pictures of markers at their cemetery and posting those, then there are some who post inforation from courthouse ledgers and there are groups out there who post veterans information . . . it is a great site and there may be a chance that you could locate someone that way . . . Jeanine Have you checked any phone books for that surname? I checked on www.switchboard.com and this is the ONLY thing there, but she might be a viable option . . 1. Re: [MITUSCOL] H I Voelker
    2. I will look into this 1975 article. It is really odd, because the dad of the famous Dr Paul Voelker is Henry Voelker, who died in 1937. And of course Henry Voelker, who died in 1937, had several children, not just one. I will figure it out. Thanks.
