Dear good folks of the Mitchell list, There seems to be a lot of Mitchell activity, lately. So I thought I'd take advantage of all this activity to send a plea, once again, for information regarding my grandfather, Richard Gano Mitchell. He was born 17 DEC 1877 somewhere in Kentucky. Most likely, Fayette, Madison, Garrard, or Jessamine Counties. He attended Berea School from 1897 thru 1899. He was an electrician by trade, though he did not learn the trade at Berea. I think he first married Martha Anderson in early 1900s in Madison County, Kentucky. I believe they had a child named Ida. In 1912, he married Lucille Rodefer in Bristol, Tennessee. By 1920 they are in Middletown, Butler County, Ohio with three of their five children; Richard Gano, Jr., Geraldine Edelle, and Delno Attwood ( Warren and Donal Edward would come latter). In 1929, Richard divorced his wife and returned to Kentucky where he married again, Cynthia (unknown) and, I believe had several other children. He died in Corbin, Whitley County, Kentucky on Christmas Day in 1935 of tuberculosis. Funeral home records show that he was carried to Paint Lick, Kentucky for burial. I have been unable to find his grave or tie him to any family in the area. The death certificate states that Richard's father's name was, what else, John, and that his mother was, what else, Mary. I have looked so long and so hard to find....nothing. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks for your continued support. So shines a good deed! Sincerely, JenniferGet more from the Web.
