--part1_134.14c4ef86.2ac11089_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I am receiving many bounces from Hotmail, and many are being unsubscribed because their bounces exceed the system limit. Someone else sent this information which may help: Go to Hotmail and login and look under Options, in the middle column. There are 3 settings-safe list, mailing lists, and custom filter. Subscribers in L mode should add the LIST address under the mailing lists section because list mail comes TO the list address and not to the subscriber address. Mailing list posts will be treated like Spam if the list address isn't on the list of mailing lists. Digest subscribers should add the D-request address (the one the digest always comes from) to the Safe list of acceptable senders. This will help Hotmail recognize Rootsweb as mail that you would like to receive and not as spam, and may cut down on these bounces. If your email bounces more than 4 bounces, the Smart mail function of Rootsweb will automatically unsubscribe you from a list. Joan Young has a possible solution: Tell them to go to Hotmail and login and look under Options, in the middle column. There are 3 settings- safe list, mailing lists, and custom filter. Subscribers in L mode should add the LIST address under the mailing lists section because list mail comes TO the list address and not to the subscriber address and otherwise will be treated like spam if the list address isn't on the list of mailing lists.
