Brenda... Is the Joel you have the son of Richard? - or brother?... I have been able to find descendants of Richard, but no siblings or parents... and I am betting he had a brother named Joel and HE will be my Peggy's father. Joel was not a Hardee name until Peggy Mitchell married John Ziba Hardee - so - if naming patterns hold here, Joel Mitchell would have been her father - and a possible sibling of your Richard. Now, of course, we have a 200 year endless stream of "little Joels"... :) I guess what I need to do is join an Amelia County e-list and see what I can dig up on wills and land records. Carol
