There were a number of Mitchell families living in Sumner Co. TN. in the early 1800's and I have not been able to connect any of them. My John Mitchell who married Frances "Fanny" Busby in Sumner Co. in 1808 lived on the mid-fork of Station Camp Creek. There was another John there also but I don't think they were related. I think my John may have been from Granville Co. N.C., son of Major Mitchell and Molley Wiggins.
