Hi Marlene, There were Mitchell's in White County, TN in the early 1800's and descendants live there today. My ggrandmother was, Eliza Ann Mitchell (b. abt. 1846 in White Co), descendant of Spencer Sterling Mitchell (1775-1849) and Rachel Roberts. Unfortunately, the computer I keep my genealogy files in is acting strangely, and I'm waiting for a computer guru to fix it before I mess it up even more. I know I have lots of William Mitchell's, but don't know if I have yours. The name Nancy Dyer rings a bell. Joab Mitchell and Jubel B. Hancock do not sound familiar to me.
