14 May 2003 Dear MaryJean: Correct on both counts. TGM Sr., my 3rd g-grandfather, died in Thomas County, GA July 1826, a year after his migration from central Georgia. Thomas Goodwin Mitchell, Jr., Esq., a son, also died in Thomas County. I visited both grave sites in January 2003. TGM Sr. was the grandson of Tabitha Branch and Henry Mitchell (II), and she was the great-granddaughter of Christopher Branch, the immigrant ancestor who arrived in VA 1619 aboard the ship London Merchant.
