I have been working on my mother's Smith family genealogy in the Town of Kortright, Delaware County, New York. Her grandmother was Jane A (Jennie) Black and her parents were William Black and Margaret Mitchell both born 1821 in Ireland. Margaret Mitchell's parents were George Mitchell and Jane (Houston) Mitchell from Ireland. I'm now trying to find out when they emigrated to the US and New York State and where they came from in Ireland. Anyone familiar with this Mitchell family? My mother's grand father was Legrand Smith.
