Hi Donna, Reference - Hightower-Mitchell families - The Hightower family you mention is most interesting! Seems there were two Mitchell families who married into the Hightowers. The Mitchell-Hightower marriages in my (Mitchell) ancestor's brother's, lineage was quite early, before your's I believe. The Jonathan Mitchell, born 1799 SC/GA who married Sarah Hightower, was the son of Hinchey Mitchell born 1775 VA. This Hightower - Mitchell family were in Clarke Co GA (bef 1809) and migrated to Henry Co, then to Fayette Co GA where they lived and died...If there is a connection, I would think it would begin with the Hightowers and according to most of the info I've seen, this branch of Hightower who married into my Mitchell family were from perhaps VA, but for certain NC and then migrated to GA.
