    3. The following was on one of my other mail lists and the Mitchell name caught my eye. I thought I would share it with this list just in case it is of interest to anyone. Unfortunately I don't have a link to Henry and have no other information. Conni Mitchell Braun Bill Surles, VP of the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, is arranging a ceremonial marking of James Barham's ( 1764-1865 ) grave in recognition of his contributions to the American Revolution. Please try to attend if possible. This event will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Springfield, Missouri on August 23, 2003. James Barham lived in Guilford County NC, Salisbury District after the war in 1792, having come from Albemarle Parish /Sussex County VA, where he served in Whitehead's Virginia Militia during the Rev. War. James Barham bought land in Guilford County NC from John Brown on both sides of Maris Fork of the Haw River, as well as land from Henry Mitchell on the Haw River. James sold some of this land the following year to Jonathan Calloway, Drury Peeples, Mary Dennis, and William Middleton. Then he purchased more land in 1794 from Obediah Calloway. James Barham remained in Guilford County through 1798, when he moved to Stokes County NC. He later was in KY, TN and MO. He died at the age of 101 in 1865 , having just been documented as the "last surviving Rev. War patriot". A typical SAR grave ceremonial marking includes: 1. presentation of colors - we have a color guard with Revolutionary War uniforms and flags. 2. welcome and introduction of guests 3. invocation 4. overview of patriot's life and service 5. dedication of marker 6. recessional 7. visiting/refreshments For additional details on the event, descendants expected to attend, and available accommodations in the Springfield area, contact Leonard Johnson <leonardjohnson@inner-link.com>. Pass this on to anyone that would be interested.
