Richard I dont believe there any James in Lawrence Co in 1870 but I believe that there was a James born there that went to Arkansas after the war. I am writing from memory but I believe he went to around Ft Smith. Either he or his son later became the editor of a Little Rock newspaper. He married a woman from somewhere around Nashville Tenn. He was the son of a James from Monroe Co Indiana and there are still Mitchells living there from his line. I found the Robert Mitchell and wife in Hardeman Co Tenn both were born in County Down Ireland. They had children born in NY and NC before Tenn.
