I guess I was just lucky to have birth place listed on marriage license. It gave me the clue I needed to locate my ancestor's birth records and those of his mother in Switzerland. From that search I was also given the birthplace of his grandfather in Germany. Now I'm trying to find records there. Happy Researching!
