    3. Hello Bobby and Edna, I have been following your thread about Eley or Eli Mitchell. I have the following notes under my ancestor, Lillus Mitchell b. 1823, who married Daniel Nolan Fulk in Clinton County, Ohio and migrated to Scotland County, Missouri about 1845: A Eli M. Mitchell, age 61 in 1899 (b. 1837) "from Carroll Co., MO, formerly from Andrew Co, MO." gives an affidavit on Lillis' behalf at her request for a soldier's pension. AFFIDAVIT: State of Missouri and County of Scotland. In the matter of the application of Lillis Fulk, widow of Daniel N. Fulk, on this 24th day of January 1901, personaly appeared before me a Notary Public in and for....dully authorized to administer oaths Eli M. Mitchell, aged 61 years a resident of County of Carroll and State of Missouri....well known to me to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: That I have been well and personally acquainted with Lillis Fulk for 55 years, and... that I was but a small boy when appicant was married to the deceased Daniel N. Fulk, she was but a young girl when married, her maiden name was Mitchell, and the said Fulk was her first and only husband, and she was his first and only wife; They were married in the county of Clinton State of Ohio on the 12 day of Jan 1843. In the year soon thereafter they moved to the State of Missouri, Scotland County. In the year 48 or 49, we moved to said state and to Andrew Conty, and I have been intimately acqauainted with them and their family, to the present time frequently visiting with them and they with me; of their said wedlock, they raised Ten children, know that they lived together as husband and wife up to the time of his death, that this applicant is his widow, and is now single and un-married. ... As found in Civil War Records of Daniel N. Fulk. I believe that this Eli is somehow related to my Lillus Mitchell and her sister, Thirza, b. 1821. I don't know who are the parents of Lillus and Thirza; although my current thinking is perhaps James H. Mitchell of Clinton County, Ohio. Unfortunately, both the girls got married before 1850 census. There was also a Samuel Mitchell in Scotland County, MO that could also be a brother to Thirza and Lillus or perhaps a cousin. Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated. I have some newspaper notes about E. M. Mitchell and his wife, if you are interested.
