    3. Hi Tom, My William Pennington Mitchell was also born somewhere in Virginia about the same time as yours. He came to Franklin County, Tn. & from there I don't know. My Great Grand Dad, his son born around 1830, came to Tx. in 1851 with his inlaws , John & Lucy Day. My William P. married Lucinda Banks. If in your looking, have you come across this William ? I will look for you in our research as we go. We, 3 of us cousins, have looked for years with no results. Our problem seems to be no names for sibs to tie in to a family. I guess that I wrote to let you know that we all seem to have trouble with some elusive William Mitchell. Ha ! Good Luck to you ! Billy G. 3. Hi Billy In my database I have a George R. Mitchell (1872 - 1962) married Lucy Day. George is the s/o Jessee B. Mitchell (1841 TN - 1917). Jessee B. Mitchell had a sibling named John Day Mitchell. I'm just responding due to the Day name; I don't know if any of this will help you or just confuse the matter even more. Do you have another Lucy Day besides Lucy, John Day's wife? Or another Day - Mitchell connection? And what was you gr grandfather's name? 3. Hi Judith, My Great Grand Father's name is George Washington Mitchell, born about 1830 & married Martha Ann Day, daughter of John Day & Lucy Howard Day Martha was born about 1831 in Franklin Co. Tn. I don't know where George W. was born, some say Va. as his Father William Pennington Mitchell was supposedly from Va. There are a lot of Day's in my line coming from from this one marriage. They settled near Center, Tx. in Shelby Co. near La. Sabine River line. They are buried in North Jerico Cem. & the oldest graves in the Cemetery. John born about 1795 & Lucy about 1801. They had quite a few kids & they are spread all over Tx. by now. Last year one of their descendants died & it was in the Dallas, Tx. paper & he had been Dean at Texas Christian University. I have some info on the family from correspondence, not a great deal. Last year I went with my cousin here in Dallas, to Grayson County north of here & visited my Great Grand Dad's brother's grave near Callisburg. She found me a few years ago doing her research & I didn't know about all she has shown me on my family & I likewise was able to go with her to show her the graves & markers that I knew about from my Dad. It sure has been fun. This year a couple in Estill Springs, Tn. cleaned & photographed & sent me pictures of another of my Great's brothers buried at Estill Springs, Tn. He is William Pennington Mitchell Jr. People doing this have been so helpful & nice. I do free look ups in one county in Tn. & one county in Tx. to try to help others. Thanks for your inquiry, Billy Mitchell > Hi Billy > In my database I have a George R. Mitchell (1872 - 1962) married Lucy Day. > George is the s/o Jessee B. Mitchell (1841 TN - 1917). Jessee B. 3. Billy Thank you for responding to my message; unfortunately, Lucy Day who married George R. Mitchell is the only Day of that time frame in my data base and I don't know if our Mitchell families might somewhere be connected. I show a Stephen A. Mitchell (s/o Archibald & Eliza 'Williamson' Mitchell); Stephen supposedly died in Collin co, TX; but was reportedly buried in Pilot Grove, Grayson co, TX. Just not enough information to go anywhere. Continue enjoying your research, when a reward comes it does make the frustration all worth while.
