    3. Doloris: If you ever find anything about this please post to this list. My Mitchell family lived in Rockingham County, Virginia for a while in the late 1700s but unfortunately we know nothing about the family's time there. I don't know the names of my earliest ancestor's (William Mitchell) parents or even his wife. We know that several of his children were born there but not certain if in Rockingham or other county. No date was given. Message said owner of plantation was done in by his slaves. Listed some of his children 2 of which were John & William. My uncle tells me that my ggg-grandfather William Lane Mitchell came to Harrison Co., thru the Cumberland Gap as a young boy. WLM b. 1798. I can't get an answer from the person who posted this. Does this sound familiar to anyone here? Thanks. Dee. > > > ==== MITCHELL Mailing List ==== > DO NOT POST NON-GENEALOGICAL MATERIALS TO THIS LIST. >
