This the note on the family : Here History:; James Holt received a land grant of 107 acres on Penn Creek of Little Saluda River, Sept. 1791. Land grant was sold to Richard Lewis, May 1792, described as on Circuit Road leading from Cambridge to Charleston. He bought 200 acres in June 1800 from John Stewart on Turkey Creek (today southeast of Parksville and the Savannah River) bounding Stewart and James Sullivan. Witnesses: John and Joseph Wallace. Sold same 200 acres to Littleberry Mitchell, 11 Feb. 1809.
