Had four children: Edmund Harper b. 1796; Thomas Mitchell abt 1798; Mariah abt 1801; Shatteen C. b 1802 Amelia Co. d. 1866 Griffin, Spauld Co. GA. I am descended from Shatteen. I do not know if your Pleasant Mitchell, b. 1766 may be related to my Mitchell line. -- Ron

Ron, can you make any connections to these Amelia Co., VA Mitchells: Levi DEATON (abt 1783 - aft 1850) & (m. 1808 Amelia Co., VA) Elizabeth P. MITCHELL (abt 1789 - aft 1850) - Lived in Botetourt Co. at least in 1810 and 1820; by 1830 they were in Montgomery Co., VA, then on to TN. - Levi's mother Martha C. moved from Amelia Co., VA to Botetourt Co. after his father Levi died in 1799; Martha C. was in Botetourt Co. by 1810, and died there in 1822. - Decendants of Levi & Elizabeth went first to Morgan Co., IL and also to MO. One of Levi's brothers, Nathan, married Sally MITCHELL (d/o John MITCHELL) in 1819 in Botetourt Co., VA. Just a guess that Elizabeth and Sally may be sisters, but I don't know for sure since I don't know Elizabeth's father.
