Hello, Kerstin. I am descended from John Henry Mitchell also. I have heard he was born in 1745 in Petersburg, VA. His son, as you said, was Thomas Hardaway Mitchell, and I concur on the rest of what you said. My family stories were that John Henry married Mary Zeigler, whose mother was a Zimmerman, but I have no details. I do have lots of information on Ruth Tillery's family, including her Zieglers. I have been seeking information on John Henry's parents, his wife (proof), and his children. He went to Oglethorpe, GA, where he died in 1806. Thomas Hardaway and Ruth Tillery were married in Oglethorpe CO in 1814. Do you have any more information on John Henry? If so, I would certainly appreciate knowing it.
