My Preston has been very difficult. He was supposed to have been born in Tennessee, supposed to have married Elizabeth C., had a son John E. supposedly in Texas. John E was killed in 1887 in Robertson County, Texas. Elizabeth was remarried in 1870, and I can't find any records of Preston in Texas. There was a P. Mitchell in 1850 married to Elizabeth with a son Lexus (very difficult to read). She was a dressmaker. I don't know if he was killed, went to Arkansas?, back to Tennessee? or what. I wish I had more to go on, but that is all I have been able to glean from old records and family... I hope that there is some thread that may connect us. Thank you for responding. Evelyn
