Hi Mary Jean, Sorry if I got the story wrong, it was a little confusing. :) So... what you are saying is that poor Elizabeth's land was actually taken away from her from some of the people in the county? Women certainly didn't have the rights that they do today. I will have to think on this....... It's interesting how neighbors often married neighbors after the death of a spouse. Of course, neighbors were so much closer back then, probably socializing often and helping each other in times of need, and very often neighbors were related to each other as well.
