A Mitchell family living in Wilkes and Iredell counties in NC was the family of Moses Mitchell who married into the family of Daniel Boone. Moses descended from Sir Gavin Mitchell of Scotland. Doris

I am very interested in the recent discussion about Mitchell's from Wilkes Co., NC. Early land records show several Mitchell's including Moses, William, Adam, Randolph, James, Joshua, and Nicholas living in the area of Wilkes Co. Does anyone have any information which explains if or how any of them are related? How is Moses Mitchell related to Sir Gavin Mitchell? Is he his son? Does anyone have any information about the family of Sir Gavin Mitchell? I have seen a lot of information about a son, John, but not Moses. My ancestor, Nicholas Mitchell, as well as three other Mitchell's; William, Abigail and Ann; was a member of the Dutchman's Creek Baptist Church., They joined the church in 1774. Other members of this church included George and Edward Boon.
