I am not positive but thinking on the possibility that my gr-grandfather, Joseph E. MITCHELL, b. abt. 1854 in Fayette County, PA, was a son of John A. MITCHELL and Susan FREY. Is anyone familiar with this John A. MITCHELL line from western PA? It is my understanding that this line of MITCHELLs descended from a John MUSCHLER of Germany, whose Americanized name became MITCHELL. Any help appreciated. Thank you. Rebecca Weigold
Hello, I am looking for information on my maternal great-grandmother, Anastasia Mitchell. She was born about 25 June 1863 in Lancashire, UK. The family seems to remember that her father's name was Thomas. She went on to marry Roger Heaney. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Regards Natalie Rimlinger Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia
Mac, Do you have any info on Richard at all? Where he and Vard married? His birthplace? I have a brother of my great-grandmother that I am looking for. The family was from MA, came to MI around 1882. Her brother's name was Percy, but I have found absolutely nothing with that name and wonder if he may have changed it. His sister's name was Dora, so the time frame of their birth (mine is Nov. 1886) and the fact that their child's name is Doris put up a flag for me. If you know Vard's maiden name, I might be able to check marriage records here in MI. Mary Jo --- SMcdon9686@aol.com wrote: > Looking for info on Richard and his wife Vard > McDonald. Colleen, Thank you for the reply, I don't recognize the name Edmond Mitchell, however I'm not back to 1838, trying to get there. I haven't searched in Decatur County, I'll give that census a try and will let you know if I come up with anything. I've been looking in the 1860 census, James would have been 10 years old then. Thank You For Your Reply. I will have some info to share soon.
Did any of your Mitchell's end up in Indiana by chance?
Hello everyone that answered to Livingston Co. NY Mitchell's. I have looked thru what I have and can't find any connections, darn it! I will save all the info. and hope for something to come up. My Mitchell's left NY in 1842 and traveled with a large group to Kane County, Illinois. If any of you have any Fuller's, Ingall's, jackman's, Sovereign, Yarrington,Powell. these are all connected to the Mitchell's that left NY. Thank you for all the replies!!! Paula
Hi Guys! Since we are talking about NY Mitchell's, and unusual names. How about... Freeman Deloss or Oliver Harvey? I know Charles was in Allamakee Co. Iowa abt. 1855 and in Vernon Co. Wisconsin abt. 1870. I have searched through Census in Ohio, ILL, to see if I could find my Charles there after 1834. No luck yet. :( Anything sound familiar? I have posted several times about this Mitchell line, so I apologize to those who are getting tired of hearing about my lost MITCHELL's. LOL..... Thanks, Stacy :)
Paula, My husband's 4th great grandfather is James Mitchell. His 3rd great grandfather's name is Nathaniel and he had a brother names Josiah. Nathaniel named one of his sons Nathaniel Alonzo. I found James in Adams County, Ohio in the 1850 & 1860 census. The census states that he was born in Maryland before 1804. I did not check in New York but could this be the same family? I have been looking for them for a while. I did do some research in Maryland and found a family that might be family. I will look for that information. I am anxious to hear whether we might be related. Sylvia in CO
Hi My Great grandfather was Miles Jefferson Mitchell. I think his father was Henry and was married to Dolly Adella Riggles or Raisor. Also they named son Alonzo. Any connection? Thanks Millie
