Janine-- My Mitchells were from Franklin Co., AR, and came from TN. Were any of your Mitchells from either Franklin or TN? Thanks. Barbra
Hi Ruth, Very intriguing!! Bascom is a rather unusual name. Do you know who Edward Bascom's parents were? It would be interesting to know what other counties in Arkansas they lived in. My Mitchells were in several other Ar. Counties as well. :-) Thank you for replying, Janine
Hi, At this point, I really couldn't say for sure. So far I don't have an Eli born in 1823....Thank you for replying,, though. It was very sweet of you! Thank you kindly, Janine

Hi, I have an Eli Mitchell b. 1823, could he be a match? Jackie
Janine The name "Bascom" caught my eye. My grandfather's name is Edward Bascum/Bascom Mitchell. They moved from KY to AR early 1900's. Settled in Heber Springs, AR. Wife's name Dicie Ambecilla Shive(s). I don't remember that they lived in Criaghead Co AR, but were in one or two other counties. Here's another entry that appears to be for a Samuel Mitchell, middle column http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/guilford/census/1790/496-97.gif
On this 1790 census image for Guilford County, NC there appears to be an entry for an Adam Mitchell. See middle column 8th name down. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/guilford/census/1790/494-95.gif Conni Mitchell Braun

Hi Everyone! I only recently found out that my grandfather, John Henry Mitchell, who was born in Franklin County, Georgia, moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas, to live for awhile before he eventually settled in El Paso, Texas. His parents were Wiley(Wylie) and Sarah Mitchell. John's siblings were Wiley, Robert, Giles, George, Eli Abner, Bascom, and Sarah "Sallie" to name a few. Many of John Henry's siblings lived in Arkansas their whole lives. If these Mitchells sound familiar, I would love to exchange family information with you! Thank you for listening, Janine (Mitchell) Crandell
I am searching for a lost cousin. His name is/was Jimmy (or James) Rex Mitchell. He was a police officer in Phoenix, AZ in the early 60's. His father was Forest Ruben Mitchell (1904-1977), who lived in Lamesa, TX until his death. His mother was Irene Painter, no other info.
Hi Doris, I am sorry that I do not have the name of his father or mother. Daniel Foster Mitchel b. Dec 1846 MS, is the only name I have. I have also went through several TN counties bordering MS and AL, still, nothing. thought Foster could have been a family name on his mother's side in AL. I even went into the 1850 AL censu and found nothing. Thank you so much for trying, as I know it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, as they used to say. Belinda
Hi, OK I am looking for TN census now. I will try and get back to you in a couple of days. Doris
He must have been in TN as I found no Daniel age 3 in MS. I just do not know for sure.
