Hello Conni and Mitchell Listers, Your posting has opened some interest in me because my Fulk line came from Rockingham County, Virginia to Highland County, Ohio and my Daniel Nolan Fulk married a Lillis Mitchell in neighboring Clinton County, Ohio in 1843. Knowing how these people up and moved from one locality to another "in great herds" makes me think that the Mitchells and Fulks might have migrated together. Was your Old William Mitchell, b 1794, the only Mitchell of that generation in Rockingham County? I have often suspected that the Fulk line is from Pennsylvania, perhaps tied into a Quaker line; but have not persued that suspicion. Quakers were in Chester Co., Pennsylvania at that time period. You might check the Quaker records out. Not sure if they had MM in Rockingham Co., at that time; but they were in Loudoun County, VA at at time. My Jackson line came down from Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania (next to Chester Co., PA) in 1761 with "certificates from their MM" in Pennsylvania.
