Evening; I had another Cat Scan today. The lump or what ever it was on my adrenal gland was the same size and so that takes it off of the emergency status. But it showed up an aneurysm on my aorta in the stomach area. I will go back to the Dr. Wednesday afternoon so that they can set up a schedule of what to do. The Dr. is consulting a surgeon about it. and to change my medication. So I will let you know just what they want to do. The rain has let up some here. It looks like they replaced it with hot muggy heat. So I have to play inside in the afternoons. Some days I can sneak in a nap. Joe come up and visited for about 4 hours last Wed. He seems to be OK except he has lost some weight and it makes him look a little older. And he finally quit smoking. Love to all Francis PS. This may mess up the trip to Odessa that I had planned for Wanda.
Barbra - I've found a lot of occurances of the same names in Mitchell families. I thought Aquilla Mitchell would be very uncommon but then I came across several by that name. Sure makes finding connections and ancestors more difficult. Good luck with your research and may you find your Elijah! I have no clue where the name Preston came from. His full name was Preston Gainum Mitchell. His mother was Susannah Vineyard so Gainum isn't her maiden name. This is all I have on Preston. Preston Mitchell was a farmer and deputy sheriff in Tennessee. He moved to Dade County, Missouri in 1855 and served as a Justice of the Peace for many years. He died in Dade County, Missouri on September 22, 1875 and is buried in the Liberty Cemetery, Everton, Polk Township, Dade County, Missouri. Rachel died on March 21, 1879 while visiting Mary Jane (Nancy Jane?) at Lea Springs, Grainger County, Tennessee. She was originally buried in Poplar Hill Cemetery, but was moved to the Renfro Family Cemetery located on the Renfro farm next to the house. The Renfro farm is located on Rutledge Pike outside Blaine, Tennessee. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Embrad1@aol.com> To: <MITCHELL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 04, 2003 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [MITCHELL] Mitchell Will - Grainger County, TN > Could Green Berry have a brother, relative or friend that he named his son > PRESTON after. Could Green Berry have a brother, relative or friend that he named his son PRESTON after. My 2nd great grandfather Preston Mitchell came to Texas from Tennessee, had a wife named Elizabeth C. and one son John E. There may have been a son Lexus (?). In 1860 Elizabeth was married to a Ben Wheelis, who was also from Tennesse and North Carolina, and John E. was 10 years old. It is said that Preston was killed in the Civil War, but I have not been able to verify. Any help or clue as to where I might look would be DEEPLY appreciated. Thank you and have a blessed 4th. I am printing the will of my 4th great grandfather, Greenberry Mitchell Sr. which includes some other names of Grainger County residents. If anyone else has a connection to this Greenberry I would like to hear from them WILL OF GREENBERRY MITCHELL Dated: February 16, 1860 Recorded: March 10, 1860, Will Book 4, Page 24 County Clerk's Office, Grainger County, Tennessee The exact words of the will are: In the name of God, Amen. I, Green Berry Mitchell of Grainger County and State of Tennessee, being weak in body, but sound in mind and memory, do make and ordain the following to be my last will and testament, to-wit: I recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it, and my body to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner as the discretion of my Executor or executors, as to my worldly effects as it has pleased God to help me within this life. I desire and will the same to be disposed of as follows: After my funeral expenses together with all debts against me that are to be paid, to-wit. My will and wish that my beloved wife, Susannah Mitchell, and my son, G.B. Mitchell, Jr. shall reside and remain in my present dwelling house and accept my home plantation as long as my said wife lives and she, my said wife, Susannah shall be comfortably supported by my son G.B. Mitchell, Jr. as long as she lives, and that she shall have my Negro, Julie, to wait on her during her natural life. Said Negro Julie not to be subject to distribution among my heirs until after the death of my said wife, Susannah. My will and wish is that my home plantation shall be the absolute property of my son, G.B. Mitchell, Jr. Said home plantation joins lands of William Green, Andrew Vineyard and others. This bequest of my house plantation to G.B. Mitchell, Jr. will equalize him in property with all my other in what shares heretofore gave them as follows I gave to my son Preston Mitchell a tract of land in what is Churchman's Bend of Holston River; also gave my son John Mitchell a tract of land on which he now lives. I gave to my sons, Isaac and Calvin Mitchell, a tract of land called the Perrin tract which has been divided between them and they live on the respective shares. I gave to my four daughters each a Negro girl, namely: Elizabeth, Ann, Mary and Susannah. All of the before mentioned I do hereby confirm and vest title to each of them in the property described which with some other personal property heretofore given equalizes all of my said nine children. My will is that shortly after my death that my family of Negroes that are now born or that may be born shall be valued by some three suitable persons to be selected by my Executors for the purpose, and they shall be equally divided between my nine children above named - the girl, Julie, is excepted in the first distribution. My will and wish is that the land adjoining the lands of Nathaniel Patterson, Jr., deceased, S.M. Shields and William Green, known by the name of the Knob fields, say about one hundred fifty acres together with all my personal property shall be sold on twelve month's credit, bond and good security required of the purchaser or purchasers and a lien retained on the real estate until the purchase money is fully paid and when the money is all collected together with all that may be owing to me at the time of my death, either by a note or account, my will and wish is that the amount, whatever it may be shall be equally divided between all of my children above named nine in number, except my son, Preston, to whom I have made an advancement of a land warrant of 125 acres, which I require my executors to charge in $125.00 to be deducted out of his distributive share of my estate what may subject to distribution. My will is that after the death of my wife, Susannah, that my Negro girl, Julie and her increase, if there should be any, shall be halved and that some one of the heirs shall take her or her increase as the case may be at fair evaluation and the proceeds to be equally divided between all of my nine children. I do hereby appoint my two sons, John and G.B. Mitchell Jr. my executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 16th day of February 1860: Signed, Green Berry Mitchell Signed and sealed in the presence of us: 1. Sam Shields 2. William Green 3. Robert M. Stone

Hello, I just found this web-site and thought I would share with you. Happy 4th, Mrs. Robin M. Stinson http://www.deadfred.com This site has old photo's of long lost relatives. I think I found one of mine. Hope this helps.
Does anyone have any information about marriage of Peter MITCHELL and Brigid FOTTRELL living in Dublin, Ireland in the 1860's. Gene Fottrell nyfd148@comcast.net
A couple of people responded to my request for information about Charter Mitchell of Tazewell Co., VA. I have lost your message due to adjusting to a new computer and AOL. If you would email me again, I will be happy to exchange information. Thanks. Patricia Christian wechristians@aol.com
MaryJean, I found it interesting. It is a free service to search for documents and pictures that people have possession of that could be of value to researchers seeking information on a certain person, rather than a family line. For instance, in this case, the person has information on the Revolutionary War grave marker of Nimrod Mitchell: MITCHELL, Nimrod Item Number 1055447543 Location Gray Court SC Item Announcement Price 25.00 Item date 1957 Item condition Excellent Item content Unveiling of Revolutionary War Grave Marker It doesn't appear to me to be an item one would use as a source reference, however, it might show the location of the marker if one were so inclined as to want to photograph it.
Reference - Nimrod Mitchell and the website - I had no luck with the web address due to the connection to Ancestry.com, a paid website. Do any of you descend from Nimrod Mitchell, have birthdate and whose family of Mitchell he descends from? I assume he is the adult Mitchell in SC, Old 96th district who was born about 1740's? Thanks! MaryJean Descendant of Hinchey Mitchell (born 1775 VA died 1863 Clayton Co GA) -
