He was born June 18, 1915, in Bronson, a son of Fay C. and Lillian A. (FLICKINGER) ELLIS. On May 7, 1955, he married Thelma I. HOWE, in Mount Morris. He was a lifelong Bronson resident. He worked a few years at Douglas manufacturing Company, Bronson, then 29 years at the L.A. Darling Company, Bronson, and 12 years at Doerr Products, Burr Oak, retiring in 1968. He also was a GTE Public Telephone Booth cleaner 13 years until he was age 73. He was an amateur photographer and he enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Mark A. ELLIS, Portage, and Brian P. ELLIS, Howe, Ind.; a special son he raised since he was age 13, Ralph HOWE, Bronson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wilford ELLIS, Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by one sister, Fern ALDERMAN. Relatives and friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Kolcz Funeral Home, Bronson, where services are at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Robert Garvisch, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burr Oak, will officiate. Burial will be in Bronson Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. END
