EBERHARD, 78, formerly of 203 S. Monroe St., Sturgis, died Jan. 8, 1987, at Leila Hospital, following several months of illness. He was born Sept.5, 1908, in Sturgis, a son of the late Ora and Sarah Ann (DRAKE) EBERHARD. On Feb. 14, 1942, he married Mildred P. KUHLMAN in Sturgis. She died April 1, 1978. He had lived most of his life in Sturgis and for the last seven years in Battle Creek. He had served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement, he was employed as a security officer at the Michigan City, Ind., Prison and also worked at the Jane A. Sturgis Memorial Home, Sturgis, and the Sturges-Young Auditorium. He was a member of the Sturgis First Presbyterian Church, Sturgis Knights of Pythias Phoenix Lodge 171, Potomac Lodge 782 Free and Accepted Masons of Potomic, Ill., the Captain John Kelley Post 1355 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rosco (Joy) MESSER, Crab Orchard, Ky.; one son, Al KUHLMAN, Sturgis; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet CAMERON and Marjorie COOKE, both of Battle Creek; one half-sister, Mrs. Charles ROSE, Traverse City; one brother, Russell EBERHARD, Battle Creek; and one niece and two nephews. Relatives and friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Sturgis, where the Knights of Pythias Phoenix Lodge 171 will hold memorial services at 7 p.m. Sunday. Services are at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Loren M. Scribner, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, with full military rites being conferred by the Captain John J. Kelley Post 1355 VFW. Memorials may be directed to the Knights of Pythias Phoenix Lodge 171. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. END
