EDWARDS, 58, 510 N. Fourth St., died March 3, 1988, at the Leila Hospital, Battle Creek, where he was admitted March 2. He was born April 16, 1929, in Lansing, a son of Charles and Edith (MARTIN) EDWARDS. On June 6, 1959, he married Violet HUGHES in Sturgis. He was a Sturgis resident for the past 35 years. He had been employed at the Sturgis Foundry, B&W Tavern, Ken Perry Excavating and Formed Tubes, all of Sturgis, and Burr Oak Tool and Die, Burr Oak. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Captain John J. Kelley Post 1355 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife; three step-daughters, Mrs. James (Cheryl) JOURDAN and Jennie LYTLE, both of Sturgis, and Mrs. Frank (Susan) COWAN, Kentucky; four step-sons, Norris CARNEY, Virginia, Larry MILLER, Indiana, Ronald MILLER and Douglas MILLER, both of Sturgis; 13 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen EDWARDS, Plainwell, and Charles EDWARDS< Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Sarah TRUMAN, Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Walter D. EDWARDS, Oct. 30, 1987, and John EDWARDS. Relatives and friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Sturgis, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Wilson, assistant pastor of the Sturgis Missionary Church, officiating. Burial with full military rights will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek. Memorials may be directed to the Edwards family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. END
