She was born Oct. 24, 1905, in Richmond, Va., a daughter of George and Tilda (ENGLES) HICKS. On Oct. 25, 1925, she married Joseph ELLIOTT, in Prestonburg, Ky. He died Feb. 6, 1985. She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the United Salem Baptist Church, Rome City. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Marie DUSZYNSKI, Seney, Mich., Mrs. Marlin (Jean) BASSLER, Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Ruth TERRY, Kendallville, Mrs. Alice Faye PATTERSON, Hindman, Ky., and Mrs. Donald (Delores) BURKHEAD, Sturgis; four sons, Clovis HOOVER, Kendallville, Denver ELLIOTT and James ELLIOTT, both of LaGrange, and Leon ELLIOTT, Macy; 52 grandchildren; and 96 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 3-9 p.m. (Ind.time) Thursday at the Carney-Frost Funeral Home, LaGrange, where services are at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Clovis Hoover will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange. Memorials may be directed to the Life Care Center of LaGrange. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. END
