YESH, age 77, of Bronson, Mich., died Monday, July 22, 2002, at the Community Health Center of Branch County. He had been in failing health. Dick was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Bronson, a son of John and Anna (CZAJKOWSKI) YESH and was a lifelong Bronson area resident. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 298th Combat Engineers at Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. After the war, he married Patricia FITZGERALD on May 29, 1948, at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson. Dick worked at the former Bronson Reel Company (later known as Bronson Specialties) from his discharge from military service until his retirement in 1989, a total of 44 years. He was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church, a charter member of the VFW Post 5003 in Bronson, a member of the Bronson Reel Amateur Baseball Team, had coached Little League Baseball in Bronson for 13 years, was a proficient fly fisherman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He proudly kept his yard, loved his family and taught each of his sons to hunt and fish. Dick was also a well known bowler and had rolled the first 300 games in Bronson. He also bowled several years in the Sturgis Major League from 1952 until his retirement from bowling in 1988. Surviving are; his wife, Patricia; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Kip ADAMSON of Bronson; sons, Mike YESH of Coldwater, Brian and (Donna TAYLOR) YESH, Kevin YESH and Christopher (Carolyn BARONE) YESH, all of Bronson; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass celebrating the life of Richard L. YESH will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Kolcz Funeral Home of Bronson. Memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Department of the Community Health Center of Branch County. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
