EBERT, 72, of 201 E. Waits Rd., Kendallville died Wednesday, July 8, in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following an extended illness. He was born in Kendallville June 9, 1915, the son of Carl and Lena (FRITZ) EBERT. EBERT, a lifetime Kendallville area resident, retired from Newman Foundry’s security department. He was a member of the First Church of God in Kendallville. He was married in Wolcottville December 12, to Betty J. (GILLESPIE) CROSS, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Evelyn HILL of Wolcottville and Helen HART of Kendallville; a daughter, Patricia (Susie) McGEE of Kendallville; six sons, Richard of Tucson, Ariz., Robert of Marana, Ariz., and James, William and Thomas, all of Kendallville; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Michael, and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home in Kendallville with the Rev. Robert Neece officiating. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Comprecare Home Health or the First Church of God building fund. END
