She was born July 31, 1900, in DeKalb County the daughter of Lewis and Mary (OBERLIN) BONEBRAKE. Mrs. ECKERT was a homemaker and a 1918 graduate of Hudson High School. She lived in rural Hudson since coming to the area in 1961 from south of Helmer. She was a member of St. John’s Untied Church of Christ, Ashely-Hudson, and was organist at the church for more than 70 years. She was also a member of the church organist at the church for more than 70 years. She was also a member of he church guild and Fairfield Home Extension Club. She was married in Salem Township June 29, 1918, to Granville J. ECKERTN (sic). He preceded her in death June 13, 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Mary CLINGAN, rural Hudson; three sons, Wayne, Helmer, and Eugene and Owen, both of Waterloo; a sister, Margaret SAMSEL, St. Paul, Minn., 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A son Louis, a grandson, Michael ECKERT, and a brother, Bill BONEBRAKE, preceded her in death. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, Hudson, with the Rev. Reuben Bebler and Rev. Lorin Harrison officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery in rural Corunna. Preferred memorials are to St. John’s United Church of Christ. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. END
