ELLIOTT, 69, of 212 Maplecrest Ave., died at 6:37 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in Sturgis Hospital minutes after being admitted. He was born in Elkhart, Ind., March 10, 1908, to G.D. and Katherine (GRAHAM) ELLIOTT. Mr. ELLIOTT and Retha M. BAILEY were married Dec. 15, 1929, in Elkhart, and moved to Sturgis from that city in 1935. He had been employed by the Kirsch Co. for 38 years, and as the company’s dealer service manager since March of 1973. He was a member and past trustee of the First United Methodist Church; a member of Kane Lodge No. 183, F&AM, in Elkhart; DeWitt Clinton Consistory and Saladine Temple in Grand Rapids; was a past president of the Sturgis Shrine Club, and a 35 year member of BPOE Lodge No. 1381 in Sturgis. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda) SOSNE of Caro, Mich.; his father, G.D. ELLIOTT of Sturgis and Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation may be made in the Foglesong Funeral Home until noon Wednesday. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church with Dr. George Hartman officiating. A graveside Masonic service will be conducted in Oaklawn Cemetery by Meridian Sun Lodge No. 49. END
