She was born May 14, 1914, in Cicero, Ill., a daughter of Alexander and Rose (LUCAS) SAKALS. In 1932, she married George STECKLEY. He died in 1966. In 1967, she married LeRoy W. ELLSWORTH. After attending school in Cicero, she moved to Goshen, Ind. She was a seamstress for many years and she assisted her husband in the trucking business several years as office manager and bookkeeper. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, crocheting, sewing and caring for her pets and she collected teddy bears. She was a member of the Michigan Grange Local 129 and the Fountain United Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Karen FOSTER, Red Bluff, Calif., Debra CANELL and Chiquita GARRETT, both of Battle Creek, and Vicky BURCH, Ravanna; one son, James L. ELLSWORTH, Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Loretta KUSACK, Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by one son, Stanley STECKLEY, in 1979; and one daughter, Tojnia McGUIRE, in 1981. Relatives and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Spencer Funeral Home, Athens. Services and burial are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Floral Lawn Memorial Garden Chapel, Battle Creek, with the Rev. James Roberts, Fountain United Church of Christ, officiating. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice. END
