WETHERBEE, 33, of 336 W. Main St., died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the Three Rivers Hospital where he had been a patient since December. Before being admitted to the Three Rivers Hospital he had been a patient at the Leila Post Hospital in Battle Creek for five months. He had been ill for nine months. Mr. WETHERBEE was born in Three Rivers on Dec. 26, 1929, a son of Harold and Marie (MEYER) WETHERBEE and the family moved to Centreville when he was five years old. A graduate of Centreville High School with the class of 1947, he served two years with the U.S. Army, spending 14 months in Germany. He received an honorable discharge Feb. 14, 1953. Mr. WETHERBEE was financial secretary and treasurer of Union 503 AFL, and was employed by Garman Electric Company for four years and the Haas Corporation in Mendon from 1957 until his recent illness. He was a member of the Centreville Methodist Church, the Methodist Men's Club and Snow-Hasbrouck Post 4898, VFW. On Nov. 10, 1951, he was married to Barbara R. LEWIS in Centreville. Survivors include his wife; four children, Valerie 9, Michael, 7, Patricia, 5, and Sandra, 9 months; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold WETHERBEE of Centreville; a brother, James of Centreville; a grandfather, Lewis MEYER of Mobile, Ala.; an uncle and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Rexrode Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Lewis, of the Centreville Methodist Church, and the Rev. Donald Wineager, of Urbandale Methodist Church, Battle Creek officiating. Interment will take place in Prairie River Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Society. END
