BURNS, 90, of 724 Maple St., this village passed away at his home Wednesday evening, Aug. 22, after several months of declining health. He was born on Feb. 23, 1872 in Canton, O., a son of William and Maria (SHRIBER) BURNS and was married to Elizabeth NAGEL in 1898 who died in 1928. On July 2, 1930 he was married to Della LANGDON in Colon. He moved to Colon 30 years ago from Chicago where he was employed for 25 years with the Sykes Steel Roofing Company. He is survived by his wife, Della, one daughter, Mrs. William R. (Alice) DUNN of Colon; one son Harold of Chicago; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lillie HAVENS, of Skokie, Ill., and one nephew. One son, a sister and brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Schipper Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, with the Rev. Griffith C. Rice, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Colon officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery. END
