BURNHAM, DECKER, KLINE, DODGSON, DICKENS, KALVIN, VAN BLARCOM Colon; Shirley L. BURNHAM, 63, of 888 Mountain Rd., Colon, passed away Friday afternoon, at the Three Rivers Hospital, after an illness of seven months. He was born in Matteson Township, Branch County, on Oct. 10, 1901, a son of Christy and Maude (DECKER) BURNHAM. He lived all of his life in and around the Colon area. His marriage to Leona KLINE was solemnized Sept. 13, 1930, in Colon. He attended the Shaw Town School. For 23 years he was employed by the St. Joseph County Road Commission. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Cleon of Three Rivers, Roger of Centreville and Michael at home; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) DODGSON of Three Rivers, Mrs. Fritz (Rosalie) DICKENS of Colon and Mrs. Paul (Christina) KALVIN of Sturgis; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Mrs. Ruby VAN BLARCOM of Jackson. Five brothers and several nieces and nephews preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Schipper Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will take place in South Colon Cemetery. END
