Nottawa St., died at Docsa Manor Nursing Home in Three Rivers, Feb. 1, 1983. He had been a patient at the facility two weeks. He was born in Mendon. He served with the United States Army during World War I and was one of the last veterans of that war in the Mendon area. In 1924, he was married to Catherine MOORE. For many years, he was a farmer and was a night watchman in Mendon many years. He also worked in Three Rivers as a security officer. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine RENCH, Union City; a brother, Clifford HOOVER, Mendon; a sister, Mrs. Edith STEINBARGER, Vicksburg; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ervin was born June 25, 1896, a son of George and Edna (ENGLER) HOOVER. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lela STEINBARGER and two brothers, Leon and Lyle HOOVER. Visitation may be made at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon, where services will be at 1 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Ira Noordhof pastor of the Mendon United Methodist Church will officiate, with burial in Mendon Cemetery. END
