HACKER, 65, 1214 Mendon Road, died Feb. 12, 1987, at his home. He was born June 29, 1921, in Leonidas Township, St. Joseph County, a son of Rudolph and Nellie (CARLISLE) HACKER. On April 19, 1941, he married Esther LANDFAIR, in Napoleon, Ohio. He was a lifelong resident of rural Athens and was a well known farmer in the area. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Charlene) BELSON, Osseo; one son, Ronald L. HACKER, Athens; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother Nellie CUMMINGS, Sturgis; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Albert) FROST, Sturgis; two brothers, Robert HACKER, East Peoria, Ill., and Harold J. HACKER, Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Schipper Funeral Home, Colon, where services are at 1 p.m. Monday. David J. Farrell, Colon, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Colon. Memorials may be directed to the Colon Future Farmers of America Scholarship Fund.
