BUTLER, 86, formerly of Colon, died Feb. 7, 1986, at Froh Community Home. She was born on Aug. 26, 1899, in Grand Rapids, a daughter of Melvin and Emma (BROWN) McMURRY. She was a lifelong resident of Colon and attended Colon Schools. On March 1, 1941, she was married to Russell A. BUTLER in Bryan, Ohio. He died in July 1966. For many years, she worked for the former Lamb Knit Goods Company in Colon. She was a member of the Colon United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and a life member of the Order of the Eastern State, 91. She also was an American Legion Auxiliary member and a member of the Colon County Club. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) WALKER, Colon; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Frances; one sister; and two brothers. Relatives and friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Schipper Funeral Home, Colon, where services will be at 1 p.m. Monday with the Revs. Larry Hubley and David Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Colon. Memorials may be directed to the Colon Rescue Squad. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. END
