HAPPEL a son of Philip and Harriet HAPPEL, was born in Mendon township, October 26, 1867. He was married to Ella E. McCLISH, October 20, 1889, she having preceded him to the Great Beyond, January 24, 1913. Inheriting all of the virtues of his kind, quiet and industrious parents, he became one of most successful and progressive men of the community. His entire life was spent in the pursuit of agriculture. Meeting all of the misfortunes and disappointments with a firm and steadfast resolution to perform all of his duties willingly and uncomplaining, he made his career a very pleasant and resourceful venture. Being very considerate of the welfare of his family and neighbors he would always discommode himself to accommodate them. Thus the community suffers a great loss and his kind deeds and his words of cheer and consolation will long be remembered by all. Several months ago his health became impaired and he very patiently bore his suffering until his work in this world was done. He departed this life, January 27, 1924, leaving mournful and sorrowing, his four sons; Fred, Clifford, Clyde and Donald, several grandchildren, one brother, three sisters and many relatives and friends. CARD of THANKS We wish to thank all of those who extended to us, in this time of sorrow and grief, the many valuable services, and words of consolation, especially the kind comforting words of Mrs. Tench and the beautiful flowers from the friends. Fred HAPPEL Clifford HAPPEL Clyde HAPPEL Donald HAPPEL and their families. END
